Previous meeting minutes
Minutes from 20 August 2001 meeting were read. It was noted that
Lauchmen and Pease were misspelled. No other corrections.
Vice President's Report (Tim Gilman)
As acting VP, Tim discussed the following schedule issues:
1. Final Fall 2001 schedule revision is on the website. Please note
there have been some scheduling changes on 3 November.
2. The next 2 games in October will start at 4 PM.
3. The 3 games in November will start at 3 PM.
4. The schedule for the 2 games in December (start of Spring 2002)
will sent to team reps in early November. Those games will also
be reflected on the league website.
Registrar's Report (Alfredo Perez)
Alfredo handed out current rosters to all team reps. He asked that
all team reps check the lists for completeness and any potential
errors. Also remember to cross off any players no longer playing
on your team. Please return corrected list to Alfredo. Alfredo also
indicated he will sent all team reps an electronic copy of their
roster via e-mail.
When
completing registration forms please 1) write legibly, 2) indicate
if this is a player transfer and what the previous team was and
3) use the correct birthdate.
Treasurer's Report and Web-Site Manager (Fred Farbod)
1. Fred handed out the treasury report. The league's checking account
contains $1,186.86 and the savings account stands at $3,266.77.
A copy of the financial report is attached to the minutes.
2. ASC owes a $5 penalty for failure to report a game result.
3. Remember, game scores must be reported to Fred by Sunday noon
following a Saturday game by the HOME team. The league would also
like the visiting team to call in the score as a backup measure.
This can be done through the website or via telephone 610-837-1146.
4. The Latin's owe a $50 fee for a forfeit vs HFA (9/22/01).
5. Parkland owes a $25 fee for a forfeit in Fall 2000 (prior to
raising forfeit fee).
6. The $75 league fee for Fall 2001 is due today.
Fred
also gave an update on the website. Here's the latest:
1.
Team pictures. 5 new team pictures have been added to the site.
Fred can accept either electronic pictures or standard versions.
2. The question came up about putting the league minutes on the
website. The site now has a link to minutes of league meetings.
Referee Assignor (Hamdija)
1. Inca-Peru vs Latin's on 9/15. Latin's failed to notify Inca-Peru
that the game was on (after initially postponing). Latin's are responsible
for remaining refs fees ($40).
2. HFA vs Latin's on 9/22. Refs and HFA showed up, but Latin's didn't.
Latin's owe $80 ref fees.
Games Commissioner (Dave Leidig)
1. Dave handed out a copy of the latest yellow card report.
2. Inca-Peru vs Latin's on 9/15. The game was originally postponed.
The Latin's then called Hum to indicate they wanted to play, but
forgot to call Inca. It was decided 1) the game should be re-scheduled
and 2) the Latin's are responsible for refs fees (already paid $40,
must supply additional $40).
3. HFA vs Latin's on 9/22. HFA has a new home field this season
and the Latin's weren't aware of the field change. Latin's went
to Saucon Park (HFA old home field) instead of Lehigh County Sports
Field. Tim Gilman said waiving the forfeit fee is a possibility
since there was a mix up. Bill Wagstaff made a motion that the forfeit
fee be waived. Alfredo sconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
4. Finally, Dave noted that he has not been getting many game reports.
Hum promised to threaten the negligent ref with bodily injury.
Over-40
Update (Tim Gilman)
The LVOTSL over-40 program is currently in progress with 8 teams
participating. The format is 11 v 11 on full fields at Saucon Park
C. Interested parties need to contact Jorge Camacho (610-250-1107)
or Bryan Snapp (610-774-4397).
Old Business (Tim Gilman)
1. Tim noted that with Dale's departure the league is without a
vice president. Primary duties of the VP include backing-up the
president and doing the schedule. Tim asked to accept nominations
for VP. Bill Wagstaff self-nominated. Dave Leidig made a motion
to elect Bill as vice president, Joe Dueh seconded and by a unanimous
show of hands, Bill was voted in as league vice president.
New Business (Tim Gilman)
1. The LVOTSL has made the big time. Our league is included in the
Soccer America Yellow pages on page 101.
2. An indoor program will begin shortly at the Lehigh Valley Sports
Zone (formerly Volley East) with Rich Finneyfrock in charge. There
will be 3 leagues with an open, over-30 and over-40 league. Call
the Zone if interested.
3. Restart of the Spring 2002 season will be 23 March 2002.
4. Next meeting is scheduled for early March at the Bethlehem Jeff's
Meeting
adjourned at 10:10 PM.
Respectfully
submitted,
Tim Golden
