Previous meeting minutes
Minutes from 15 October 2001 meeting were read. Alfredo asked that
the meeting location be noted in the minutes.
Vice President's Report (Bill Wagstaff)
Bill reported on the following:
1. Both Bill and Hamdija, accompanied by their spouses, represented
the LVOTSL at the recent Lehigh Valley Scholar Athlete banquet.
A good time was had by all.
2. Vince noted that the league should make recommendations on potential
inductees into the Old Timers Hall of Fame.
3. Candidates for the Hall of Fame will be accepted at the next
league meeting.
Registrar's Report (Alfredo Perez)
Alfredo handed out copies of each teams current roster to their
respective league rep. Alfredo made the following reminders:
1.
Ensure the roster is accurate and up-to-date. Please send corrections
to Alfredo.
2. Make sure that new registration forms (with co-signer) are used
for new team additions.
3. Alfredo will also send electronic copies of the roster to team
reps.
4. Finally, Alfredo noted he had a request from Chis Cunnane on
the possibility of forming an over 50 league. Interested parties
can contact Alfredo.
Treasurer's Report and Web-Site Manager (Fred Farbod)
1. Fred handed out the treasury report. The league's checking account
contains $1,763.86 and the savings account stands at $3,277.71.
A copy of the financial report is attached to the minutes.
2. All league fees have been paid except for ASC and the Latin's.
3. Remember, game scores must be reported to Fred by Sunday noon
following a Saturday game by the HOME team. The league would also
like the visiting team to call in the score as a backup measure.
This can be done through the website or via telephone 610-837-1146.
4. Forfeit fees are still outstanding from Parkland and Inca-Peru.
5. Jeff's Demos owe a fee for missing a league meeting. Vince paid
the $5 at the meeting.
Fred also gave an update on the website (home.netcom.com/~ffarbod/lvotsl.htm).
Here's the latest:
1.
The web-site is currently under construction for upgrades and improving
the layout.
2. The site now has a link to minutes of league meetings.
Referee Assignor (Hamdija)
1. Hum noted that the Latin's owed ref fees for games vs HFA and
Inca-Peru. Both fees have been paid by Milton.
2. Hum also noted that the Lehigh Valley Soccer Official Association
now has a link to our web-site.
Games Commissioner (Dave Leidig)
1. Dave handed out a copy of the latest yellow/red card report.
Dave noted that it would be possible to display this list on the
web-site.
2. A copy of the current standings were also handed out.
3. Dave thanked the league reps for playing the last game in December
despite inclement weather.
4. The Inca-Peru vs Western Lehigh Strikers was a forfeit since
Inca could not supply a team. Inca-Peru owes $40 ref fees (payable
to Western Lehigh Strikers since they paid the refs) and the $50
forfeit fee.
Over-40 Update (Tim Gilman)
The LVOTSL over-40 program resumes on 9 April at Air products and
the Lehigh County Fields with 9 teams competing. The format is 11
v 11 on full fields with a 6:30 PM start. Interested parties need
to contact Jorge Camacho (610-250-1107) or Bryan Snapp (610-774-4397).
Old Business (Tim Gilman)
Nothing under old business.
New Business (Tim Gilman)
1. Schedule has not been completed. Tim will e-mail the schedule
to league reps. Games will resume on 23 March.
2. There was significant discussion on referee failure to file game
reports. Leidig made a motion that refs should be forced to call
or e-mail Fred within 48 hours after a game with a game report consisting
of at least the final game score and who got carded and the type
of card. This information should be on the web-site prior to the
next weeks' play. The motion was seconded by Joe Dueh and passed
unanimously.
3. Next meeting is scheduled for late August at the Bethlehem Jeff's
Meeting
adjourned at 10:10 PM.
Respectfully
submitted,
Tim
